What’s good and what’s bad about Perfect World International

Perfect World International is a free-to-play MMORPG that seems to be a suitable alternative to World of Warcraft for those who do not want to pay a monthly subscription. My first impression of what is good and bad about this game.

Good

Perfect World is very new friendly. They provide helpful tips to guide you through the first few levels and teach you the basic functions of the game. They give you an item called Supply Stash which gives you one useful item in every 5 levels. The Level 5 supply stash gave me a token that I could trade for a beautiful weapon that was much better than the one I was using at the time.

Another good thing is that money comes easily, even at low levels. Many do not even bother to pick up the loot that the monsters loot and stay there. After a short time anyone can loot from the ground. You can get a lot of coins just by collecting this unwanted loot and selling it to the trader NPC.

The two helpful features included in the game are the Search Quest button and the coordinate assistant. In your quest window you can click the Find Quest button to show you the available quests that you have not yet received, as well as the quests that NPC offers. The Coordinate Assistant is a button at the bottom of your mini-map that contains the coordinates of all NPCs in the area, and you can double-click the name of the NPC to automatically jump to it.

The game seems to have a great variety of cool looking pets and mounts. My Venommansa has already gone through 4 different pets in 15 levels, as I keep finding new ones of my choice. I started using a wolf, then moved on to a petite safflower (flying vesp), then transformed into a dark wonder (looking like a nugget of the Lord of the Rings), and now using a crystalline magmite (a large crystal golem). I’m doing that . Every day I see someone playing, running, climbing or flying with a great new pet or mount that I haven’t seen yet.

The funniest thing I found about the game is that you can jump twice as high and you won’t get hurt. I’ve already had a lot of fun jumping off big hills over buildings, trees and other structures. There have even been two searches for which you have to make multiple jumps to a chest to climb to the top of a building.

Bad guy

There are some bad things about the game, some things that can be dealt with and some that can’t. Your inventory is painfully small; You only have 32 slots to carry all your belongings. If you plan to collect the necessary materials for crafting during the quest, you will run out of room very quickly. This was done by design, because you can buy inventory stones from the cash store that will increase the size of your inventory, up to a maximum of 64 slots.

One of the weirdest things about the default control settings is that the mouse scroll zoom is reversed (scrolling with the mouse scroll button will zoom out instead of zoom in). Fortunately this is easily fixed by clicking on System-> System Settings-> Games-> Basic and then clicking on the Zoom check-box in the Attacks section. Make sure to click Apply and then make sure to save the setting.

A wonderful exclusion from the game is an auto-powered button. This is a pretty standard MMORPG head that is not programmed in the game. You can click on a point in the distance to run for a long time, or you can open the map screen and Alt-click on any point to move automatically, but I still think they should have included an auto-run button Note: You still With the standard WASD setup you can move normally, this is not a point and just click to move the control scheme.

Bottom line

All in all, I think Perfect World is a fun and free alternative to World of Warcraft. It may not appeal to everyone, but I’d say it’s worth at least a download to check it out.
